GENERAL PURPOSE:  In 1-2 sentences state the overall purpose/function of this position.
The Professional, Organizational and Leadership Development Manager (POLD) plans, designs, and delivers technical and professional training and development programs for employees at all levels across the health system, and has a strong focus on organizational and leadership development. This “hands on” and multi-disciplinary leadership role is primarily responsible for developing curriculum and delivering training across multiple platforms geared towards adult learners. Works closely with leadership to design, develop and deploy programs enabling the transformation and implementation of business strategies.

Organizational and Leadership Development:
Transform the organization’s Culture, Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) into learning curriculum.
Delivers training across a variety of platforms (social media, classroom, e-learning, etc.) aligned with the organization’s human capital processes that drive increased organizational performance.
Create and deliver an effective executive development learning program.
Build on existing competencies and help new leaders develop behaviors championing organizational values laser focused on tenants of a high performing organization.
Design, deliver and lead the adoption of Career Development Plans (CDP) / individual development plans (IDP).
Partner with HR leaders to establish a career planning program that provides opportunities for all employees with the keys to help them negotiate career paths and take advantage of learning opportunities to enhance their career potential through growth and development. 
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to business leaders who are actively engaging in the development of these plans with their identified talent.  Of note, each individual is the owner and driver of their CDP.
Provide coaching, facilitation, and education services for individual and team development.
Champion the development and implementation of a
front line manager/supervisory/ development program.
Develop and implement individual, team and organizational assessments including 360 feedback tools, development assessments, team assessments and organization culture and engagement assessments.
Technical & Professional Training:
Utilize and ensure application of adult learning theory and instructional design to conceptualize, design and develop a variety of course content & learning solutions (e-learning, instructor-led training, virtual training, and self-study programs), based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location, and place within the learning process.  This includes creating new training programs from scratch, with SME guidance. 
Partner with SME’s to obtain information, create training
objectives, and write/edit/validate training content.
appropriate use of outside vendor/supplier to develop and deliver training materials, including cost/benefit analysis.  This includes the tuition reimbursement program and similar organizational relationships with academic institutions.  This role is responsible for managing the vendor relationships and performance.
Provide training and continuous improvement of the organization's Performance Management process and tools. Design and implement process and tools for supporting the development of high performing teams.
Manage the technical training for operations/maintenance staff and other business unit employees who require such certifications. Design and oversee the use of e-learning to make training available to a broad base of employees.
Manage the administration of the organization-wide training budget. Formulate and update training policies, executive guidelines
and procedures. Initiate the research, assessment and implementation of potential improvements to the Educational Reimbursement Program, Workplace Education Program and Computer Literacy.
Stay current
of all state and federal regulations requiring work-related training and ensure necessary training and record keeping as required by law.
Project Management:
Develop and maintain project plans, including resource assignments, risks and issues.  Provide day-to-day management of assigned projects to ensure objectives are met within the negotiated time frame established in the project plan.
Review program and course evaluations, test results, manager and learner feedback on training effectiveness to make recommendations for program improvement. Maintain assessment process to evaluate program outcomes and results relating to program performance and return on investment.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  Include the minimum job-related skills such as language, analytical, mathematical and communication skills and other qualifications such as degree, related experience, training, or license required to perform the essential components of this job.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Organization Development, Human Resources, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field required.
Master's in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources or related field preferred.
Certification in
a Human Resources related field such as PHR, SPHR, CCP, CCB, or ASTD certifications preferred.
Work Experience:
At least five years of verifiable experience in instructional design applying adult learning principles, policies, practices and delivery in a complex organization. Training includes experience designing, developing and implementing general, supervisory and technical training programs. Successful completion of training or coursework in supervision, leadership and management courses will be given favorable consideration.
Previous verifiable experience in building a learning organization from the ground floor.
Minimum 2-3 years verifiable experience in a leadership role.
Demonstrated proven experience determining, analyzing and reporting
of Learning and OD metrics using Key Performance Indicators and other measures.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Proven experience using a Learning Management System (LMS), as an advanced user/SME.  Health Stream experience preferred.
Demonstrated results as an Instructional Designer, including adult learning. 
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products, and other business software.
